read my fucking post above yours! Ps are good heads for a budget, get them cleaned up and slap them on. Then youll still have enough for gears and an h pipe

I have an H pipe.

So I should get the GT-40P's that I found off a 99 explorer, rebuild them and get gears?

Sounds logical. I think I might do that.

Any other suggestions?

The power potential with the gt40 heads don't match the tfs heads. Out of the box the tfs heads are better then a worked over set of gt40s in my opinion because you also loss about 25lbs each head off the front of your motor going with the aluminum heads.

If you can afford to sit and save for a nice used $900 set then i'd go that route but if you want to wrap up the motor/combo now and not deal with it later and the extra cash then go with the gt40p's there a great head but do what 93hatch suggested. Don't go dumping too much money into them because in the end you could have the tfs heads and making more power for the head ache LOL

<- i went 12.20s @ 113 with ported stockers on drag radials with a t 5 and 410s .
My buddy went 10.80s with ported stockers and a 200 shot.
If you have the extra cash then by all means buy the alum heads but if i only had a grand to spend i'd get some gt 40s, a cam to match, and a nitrous kit. With a set of sticky tires this will wear out almost everyone you come across on the street.

86 notch! That was the most informative thing I have heard on this thread! Thank you a lot!

I'm getting some GT-40P's, M/T drag radials and 3.73 gears!

Thanks a ton!

Kid I thought you said you already had 3.73 gears and MT Drag radials??

And enjoy filling that bottle constantly.. yes its fun but if you use it like any other 18 year old you'll be poor as hell and hardly able to use it. Good luck

edit, oh yeah you did in fact say you had those mods a few times but especially in this thread

V8 Guys!!!

If your car is really trapping 106mph then it's quite a strong runner for your minimal mods. With a nice set of aluminum heads I wouldn't be shocked to see the car go 108 plus with some suspension. Do what they say.

Flyin Ryan: I did say that and at the time i did have some 3.73's but they weren;t actually, they were like 3.20's or somehting. They are out now, with the stockers back in. The deal with the M/T fell threw and I couldn't purchase them for the $50 the guy wanted. I got there and he says $350 for the set. I did run the 3.20's and some nitto;s when I did my one pass when i got the 13.9.

thanks guys! but i wont be spraying a bottle.
