TURBO

HOW LARGE OF A(SINGLE) TURBO WOULD WORK WELL ON A STOCK 5.O?
T60?
WOULD 42LB INJECTORS AND A 255(FI)LPH BE ENOUGH?

yea that would take care of the fuel but the bottom end may not hold up. plus you will deff have to change the head gaskets. what year is it? Some of the 5.0 came with forged bottom ends.

Correct me if I am wrong but no Mustang came with a forged bottom end.. Only forged pistons... Except 1993 had hyperutectic pistons

I would say you should get a inline booster pump because you will really be pushing that intank pump if not exceding its limits with that turbo and the 42 pounders..

no fox body came stock with a forged bottom end just forged pistons.a forged crank is a bit overkill on a stock block anyway.

Do a search on turbo maps and what-not. A lot of different turbos will work on your car, but it depends on how much boost you want to run and at what RPM do you want the boost to hit @. A smaller turbo will give you faster spool up, and as long as you have big enough wastegate, will limit your boost output. If you go bigger, it takes longer( more rpms) to build boost, but the turbo is more capable of moving more air by volume ( kinda like a carb). Thoroughly research it out, and not by what other people think is good. If you would ask me... I'd say go with twins, someone else will say something completely different... just my 2

I have heard of a twin turbo system turbo 1 was small, turbo 2 was big. The idea is the small one spools quick and the larger picks up at high speeds. I think toyota did this but dont know how efficient it works.

I would beef everything up in the drivetrain first but its your call. dont break stuff and you will have money to go faster.

Most twin set-ups are like this one...... not one small and one big.

It's called a sequential setup, with all the exhaust a v-8 makes ya really dont have to worry about somthing like that.

I agree with the comments about building your valvetrain up. I have told several other people about turbo setups to replace there lower parts (crankshaft, pistons, rods, rocker arms, to some forged parts so the turbo won't melt the stock shit into the oil pan or you end up emtying oil onto the freeway

If your careful, there is no need for a built bottom end, it would be nice if your funding allows for it, but I am using a stock bottom end in my car.

nope, only the 93 and newer ones. Pre-93s had forged pistons.

I actually made my pistons out of modeling clay - helps with detonation.
