Ford Racing Cobra intake....

I have been seriously considering buying a cobra intake manifold from ford racing for my '89 GT and I was wondering if anyone has had experience with them. they are supposed to be replicas from the '93 cobra and they have staggered intake ports for better air flow. its like $350 and I was wondering if it was worth the bang for the buck.

spend the extra $150 and get a TF or a little more for the Holley. They are good but if you can shell out the extra dough, then that is what you should do.

Go find a V8 Explorer in a junk yard and by the intake off of it. The 5 liter Explorer intakes are the same as the Cobra intake. There are much better intakes on the market though but you can't beat the price of an Explorer intake for a low budget set up.

For $350, eBay yourself up a Trickflow. I lucked out and got Edelbrock Performer 5.0, upper and lower + 24lb/hr injectors for about $250 shipped. Shop around ;-)

SCREW EBAY, get something with warranty and something that you know have not been used. Plus you'll feel better getting a part you know you can get without wondering if someone will be stealing your money and not giving you anything.

use ebay for small things like a steering wheel shifter knob. I would ebay for engine parts

Yeah, even if the injectors don't work, it's still a good deal. There isn't a lot that can go wrong with an intake. It's an air tunnel. Plus, eBay does have buyer protection services (make sure you know how these work).

If you know what you're looking for, and buy from seller's with good feedback, and ask a lot of questions, Ebay can be a goldmine. If you don't ask questions and get caught up in a bidding war, it can be nasty.

Exactly. Private sellers that have no feedback aren't great business partners, but there are many companies that deal with Mustangs on eBay with outstanding feedback and great product knowledge.

Also, I meant " I WOULDN'T BUY" engine parts from ebay. I made that mistake getting those BS "lowering" kits from them for my old Focus and they were all four the same size and boy was I pissed
