1988 mustang gvw

I was wondering if the sticker on the door jam where it lables the GVW was the actual weight of the car. Some one told me they only put half the car on the scale to measures the weight. I dont see how that works. Also anyone know how to take off 200lbs in a convertable, that way I can run with the hard tops? I know I can lose 80lbs from the leather power seats. mabey 15 lbs from carpe+ foam.

GVW is Gross Vehicle Weight meaning the weight of the car full of passengers, luggage and fluids.

add more power to run with them... Tubular K member and a-arms...all that stuff. ditch the rear seats and the heavy power seats.

Add a few NOS stickers and you are good to go!

yeah...im in construction and its been one hell of winter. the power adders most likley will never happen. Im just looking for free stuff to do in my spare time. I cant wait for summer over time freeeeekin sweet. I need new tires very bad. driving 55 im freking out just waiting for a blow out.

So how much would a stock 1988 convertible weigh? 2800lbs? all fluids, no passengers.

88 Convertible is probably 3400 pounds or maybe a bit more. Convertibles are the heaviest Mustangs made.

a/c, smog, that ugly ass rack that some verts still have. different rims....Yeah the sticker thing was a joke. Some people believe it makes you go faster! If i ever get nitrous, i am not going to show everybody. i am sporting the moddedmustangs stickers on the 1/4 glass and those are it.

Not to say that you will attract every cop in your area to want to stop you and search your car. Cops know the difference in Autozone bought stickers and the actual NOS sticker LOL
