ford mustang mercury capri


ok i got a question my friend has a 1983 mercury capri and i have a 1992 mustang gt he offered me this hurst short throw shifter for 50 bucks that was never installed in his car now wat im wonder is for one are the mercury capri and the for mustang pretty much the same car and would the short throw work in my car

For future reference, because two cars say mustang, doesen't make them the same car :wink

Boils down to the tranny type and will one fit from the other. Get the part number from that hurst shifter, go to the site and see if that will fit your model

i never said they wqer the same car and both of them dont say mustang i was just asking because i didnt know and i was excpecting a tranny issue that is what i thought would be the thing thanks for your thoughts

Well my bad sorry.. see i have no problems admitting my retarded ADD mistakes...

Well it biols down to the tranny type then. So follow the steps after the future reference part and you should be ok... Or wait for "Darrells" response and you have the right answer right off the bat.

thanks man sorry if i sounded like an ass i think ill see if i can get the model number of the shifter just in case anyways hes only askin 50 bucks for it so i dont think it would be to bad of a deal

nice commision man, you buy for 50 sell for 80, hell you have a new cap & roter, spark plugs, and 15 dollars in gas... not a bad way to get over LOL.

I'll buy it for $50, hook me up.

But I think a T5 is a T5, so as long as you have the same trans, it should be the same. You'll probably want to check the tag on the trans to make sure you have matching parts.
