glowshift gauges?

ok guys i am looking into replacing the gauges that are on my dash now..i want them all to match and i like the looks of the glowshift tinted ones. i know i know everyone says go autometer..but they are expensive and like i said i like the looks of the tinted ones. my question is are they pretty accurate, has anyone had problems with them, are the easy to instal...i have never installed gauges before...and i was also wondering if it is possible to keep the stock gauges hooked up also. i am looking into a oil press gauges, air fuel and temp gauge to mount in my 89s radio locationfor a nice clean look
thanks guys

I have use Glow shift with no problems. Gauges are a pretty easy install, you should have no problems with the install. and yes you can keep your factory gauges working.

Most gauges come with a few scotch locks to use.. they are much cleaner and easier to use then stripping and slicing wires together. They are the blue plastic squares in teh pic below

Depending on what gauges you are installing you will have to run new wire to the new sending units. You can't splice into the factory sending units.

Oil pressure you will have to install a new sender in line with the factory one. I just removed the factory one put a tee fitting an installed the new on and reinstalled the factory one. Water temp you need to splice the sending unit into a water line under the hood. I used the water line that goes to the throttle body. Air fuel you have to have a bung welded into your exhaust for the sensor.

Yea its a little more involved. They are a must if you have some type of forced induction.

If you're unlucky, they can also cut the wire in two - or cut enough strands to have the wire break a ways down the road. I've used them a couple times myself, but they're not my favorite.

Autometer or Prosport are the two entry level gauges to buy. I know alot of people with glowshift gauges that crapped out in a week or less or just out of the blue dont read right any more.
