blower or supercharger
i have a 1982 mustang gt 5.0 HO and whey are going to turn it into a drag car
i wanted some advice on blowers vs superchargers what works better with carburated cars, cost, what is easier to tune, reliability, and anyother comments you have |

someone correct me if im wrong, i have a carbed 5.0 and paxton is the only supercharger i can find for it, please fill me in with other brands with kits for us carburated guys

Blower and supercharger are the same thing.
You can use any centrifugal supercharger on a carbureted engine. You will need a "hat" or box for the carburetor for the piping to connect to.

Don't you need some sort of special carb set-up for that, I thought I heard somthing like that somewhere. Because of no vaccum or somthing.

yea i pretty much guessed any will work but they never advertise the piece that sits on the carb, and paxton recommends a demon 4150 style carb for there setup, i have a speed demon 650 all mechanical and no choke whats the difference between the 2, and when i think of blower this is what i think about

i was looking at vortech and i didnt even think that paxton made a hat or box for superchargers and what i meant was between blowers like 671 etc and centrifugal superchargers i would like to get into the tens or at least elevens i have a manual four speed but i think i am going to change it to a C4 of i think there is a C6 with a small bell housing and i would like a for 9 inch rear end but i cant find a decent price used one and i was thinking 4 11 or 4 56 gears not sure dont want to rpm to early and i am just researching different nitrous kits any suggestions on thanks sorry so long i have been reading everybody's article's and i respect your opinions

I figure you could get into the 11s pretty easy, Mabe a 4.10, gt-40ps, and a good 150 shot. Slicks and struts. I have also called roots type(blowers), and centrifugal(superchargers).
