Wierd Spark Near Starter Solenoid Switch and Battery???
I'm getting a pretty good sized spark when I crank the engine over somewhere near the Starter Switch Solenoid and the Battery. The car starts fine, but the spark wierds me out. I really can't tell where its coming from since I'm looking into the engine bay from the cab, but I do notice it coming from somewhere either at the Solenoid switch, Battery, or Battery Ground (the little wire coming from the neg to fender wall) or between them somewhere. Any thoughts? I have no one here to help me when finding where the spark comes from. I've looked at everything and it all looks good to me. I've checked all I can check without replacing something.

Make sure the starter relay (solenoid) has a good ground, (bolted down solid) and the negative battery cable is grounded well. If the spark only occurs when you go to start it, the only thing that is being used is the starter relay (solenoid)
Otherwise you can put the tranny in NEUTRAL and jump the two large posts on the starter relay with a screwdriver to see if you can see the same spark again when you are standing there. PS... wasn't your car on craigslist about a year or so ago..? That picture looks familiar..

Yea but it wasn't my car. I bought it lol. The picture however was never on craiglist. Yes the spark on occurs when I start it. I've also put it in neutral and get the same spark.

He just said put it in neutral so you can get out of the car and jump the solenoid. Just use a screwdriver and touch the two post at the same time.

I found the spark and fixed it. It was a ground from a small wire that comes from the negative terminal and goes on to the fender wall between the starter relay solenoid and the battery. It was somewhat loose.
