yea no doubt. I had a built LT1 in my Sonoma and replaced a couple of Opti's in my day. But it would roll out in my truck

opti spark either runs for ever on the stock unit or you replace it once a year.
The biggest problem is the waterpump and timing cover drips oil and water on them and that just clusterfucks everything.,

The opti was just a fail from day 1. The 95+ wasn't as bad but they were junk. I never got to try the MSD opti before I quit them so I don't know if its any better. I tried everything I could think of to seal it up but water kept getting in. Rusted up the bearing and the heat from that melted the cap, rotor, and the opti's guts. Pulling it was such a pain. Radiator, water pump, and harmonic balancer had to come out just to get it off.

What tires are you on? A kid I went to HS with had a stock 94 Z28 auto car. Went like 13.96 on it's best pass, usually went 14.00-14.05 every pass.
I bought my 2000 Z28 Auto and went 13.28 @ 108 first pass. LS1 > LT1

I was just saying, if you're going to buy one, might as well save up a few more dollars and get a LS1 car.

I have to agree. With the money he spent on that LT1 hunk of shit he could have gotten a Fox body with alot better platform, or just saved a little more money and bought an LS1. Sounds like an impulse buy of the worst variety.

![]() Although most of the F-body's I've owned were pigs. The 93' was the heaviest coming in @ 3650, LT1 A/T bone stock with everything from the factory, without me in it and less than 1/4 tank of fuel. I never got around to weighing the LS1 car. I figured it was in the same general area.

a mild bolt on lt1 with gears and a good driver will break into the 13's..... a fult bolt on lt1 will hit high 12's, and with heads and cams......... well, i'm sure you can do the math |

LOL I ment in general.. I didn't mean there's never been one ever to hit 13's or 12's come on now. Why bother with those sleds anyways when there are such better plateforms to dick with from the get go
