Gears----again

i started thinking, i live 10 miles away from a town..15 from a town wiht fast food..and pry 25 or 30 from a major town. Therefore i drive alot of highway miles. Would 4.10's be bad for me. BTW my car is a manual. I started thinking if the engine was running at a higher rpm's for a logner amount of time(if i got 4.10's and i drove so many miles) woudlnt htat that decrease the lifespan of my engine?

It would be minuscule. I mean 4.10s might be bad if your on the highway everyday for like an hour or so but like 15mins wouldn't be a big problem.

nah I wouldn't worry about it. Get what you want or what you think will fit best 3.73 will be a good upgrade too.

You would be fine with the 4.10s for what you have described. AtlanticBlue has 4.10s and drives 2hrs on the hwy everyday without issue.

Be sure to check the "Gears and t-lok" thread in the CrazylegsRacing forum of the Drivetrain section to get in on the group purchase and save a few bucks.

I got my 4.10s installed and am running a solid 3K RPMs at 80mph.

I'm glad that I decided at the last minute to go with the 4.10s instead of the 3.73s.
