Front End Suspension Install... HELP.

Hey guys, I pretty much ordered my front end suspension this week and need TONS of advice on the install. D&D K Member, D&D A Arms, D&D Coil Over Kit, Strange 10 Way Adj. Struts, Maximum Motorsports C/C Plates.

I searched the internet and didnt find any kind of tech articles or anything like that for installing a k member, etc. and D&D does not provide instructions w/ any of their kits. What is the best way to do this? Im clueless as far as install goes, I have never gotten this deep into suspension before... biggest thing so far is replacing shocks & misc bushings, etc lol. Any tips, advice, etc. Also, is there anything else that I should look into getting while doing the swap? Thanks alot guys.

Heres how I'd do it.
1 jack stands.
2 replace struts, and CC plates, break loose spindle nuts. seperate balljoints, and tie rod ends. let struts spindles hang in place.
3 disconnect PS lines and steering shaft, unbolt motor mounts
4 secure engine in place.
5 install new control arms on new K-member
6 install new k-member.
7 Bolt up rack, tie rods spindles....

How exactally did you secure the engine in place? And also, when you said jackstands, Im guessing that I should jack up the front & the rear correct? Someone told me that I need to disconnect my driveshaft from my trans so the motor/trans can rock?

Yea jack up the whole car. We used 2x4 pieces to secure the engine. It's all pretty easy as you go along theres some looms and stuff you have to take off too. Just take your time and it will be fine. Theres not even that many bolts in the job. use loc-tite and stuff, and be safe.

I'd use an engine hoist to secure the engine. If it falls while the K-member is out, you will be F*%$ed!

they have engine slings that hook to your strut towers and old the engine from the top. look into that. like they said, if the engine falls .. you could get hurt and break your shit.

Oh boy!! Sounds like FUN! I am a self proclaimed chassis guru and if you weren't like forever away, I'd come help ya lol. Like JBIG said, take your time, be careful, ask as MANY poeple as you can. find what their take is on it. Go to some repair shops, take a box of donuts to the Ford dealer and ask the techs there, hit up some speed shops, got to your local parts store and ask who the local racers are to ask them. Go slow, mark wires and bolts, and for Gods sake, brace the engine. Good luck bro!
