Throw the B cam in the garbage and get a cam that will actually make some power. A B cam will work fine with Twisted Wedge heads because it is barely any bigger than a stock cam.

the trick flow stage 2 was designed to make power with TW heads. so that cam is probably your best choice. the "letter" cams are kinda out of date now.

the only thing wit the stage 2 cam is that u will need gears cause of the power band, and u might wanna check the ptv clearance. for the 5.0 block its a huge cam, 542/563 lift. im trying to run it too and its a risky cam cause of the size. good luck

You should always check piston to valve clearance with any cam change. That is a no brainer. However, the design of the Twisted Wedge head allows running a 2.02 valve with a mild cam and stock pistons. A .542/.563 lift cam is far from huge. 15 years ago that was huge but these days it is not. .800 lift is huge. I've run this Trick Flow cam in many engines with no problems at all.

As far as gears go, that is the first thing anyone does to their Mustangs anyway so there really isn't an issue there. I'm sure he has 3.55 or 3.73 gears already.

cool. I thought I had seen a post on here where a guy was having trouble with the stage 2 cam but I dont know what his setup was. I do have 3.73. I havent changed the spedo gear so 70mph is 140 to me. I dont know if the gear change is what caused that or he did something when he installed white gauges

im not sure i have white gauges that go to 160 and it says im doing 150 when im doing 70 with 4.10s and a 26 tall tire. the gears will cause it to be off a bit i just dont think that much. i think the white gauges go a higher mph than stock ones.

I still cant decide if I want to get rid of this convertible and get a hard top. It alredy has 3.73 gears and a valve body shift kit cai and I think larger injectors for some reason.

It just depends on what you want to do with it man. Just a daily driver or do you want to take it to the track all the time. I mean there are some fast verts out there, but you have to meet more strict specifications for dragging. I believe you have to get a cage alot earlier and stuff like that.

I personally do not like verts, but man it is your car and have probably grown attatched to it. I know alot of people do not like my hatch, but what do i care, I am in love with it. The decision is up to you.

Gears make a big difference in speedometer accuracy.

dude ur auto already has the work done to it that u need i would keep that thing, unless u hate drivin auto. the verts are a bit heavier but i love the way they look. all u need is nice motor setup and ur there. oh and fyi, ur auto trans the way it is will beat any similarly setup stick on the road, once u get a 2800 stall.
