Sorry if I take this thread too far back on track, but about how much are those clusters actually worth anyways? I found one and was thinking of getting it for my '89.

I have the 85mph cluster too... ya it kinda sucks.. I was hittn the nos once and the gauge was buried when I was in 3rd or something, I forget but it was pretty cool LOL ya I was a squid when I was younger... me is a bad boy!

I have an 85 MPH cluster too. I did pull another one out of a 92 parts car I had and was going to switch it over. I would like to see this thread keep going to see if there is really anything that has to be done to make it work wiring wise.

I'll say it one more time in this thread...

The pin out on the printed circuit is different, there for you will need to change the location of the wires in the 2 connectors that plug in the back of the cluster because the 90-91 dash harnesses are different then the 87-89 ones.

The simple solution would be to simply pull the 140mph speedo from the new cluster and replace your 85mph speed in your current cluster with it. You'll have to do some trimming but it'll fit.

Or you can just assume i've never delt with this before and purchase a nice new cluster from a 90-93 car and throw it in and watch your gauges not work.

and LOL at this thread... doing 160 is on a street/highway is retarded in a car. Yes I street race, I race for money only one certain favorite roads that I know real well and know how good the surface is and at hours of the night/morning on days where no body is out unless either there racing or there a cop. Be smart about what you do so others don't pay the price for your retardation /thread

I would be scarred going that fast in a fox FYI, our cars are not really aerodynamic, now if you spent money on suspension BREAKS!, and aero mods and tires! then you might be good to go. Oh and a Full cage would be wise also, and finally making peace with the lord is key as well
