Turbo on a stock 5.0???

I have a stock 5.0, five speed with 123k on the block, in my 94 mustang and was considering putting a single turbo kit in it at 6 psi, but I know the only way it will last is if I have forged internals. So my question is can i get away with just a forged pistons and forged rods kit and the stock crankshaft, then add the turbo or do I need all the forged internals to run this safely, I at least want to drive this until 150k miles so should I be ok?

You should be good with a good conservative tune. I mean the higher miles is the only thing but that's still not bad if it was well maintained.

Hellion Power Systems - The Best Mustang Turbo Kits Available

Yeah you could boost your stock 5.0 forget swapping pistons etc.
I have like 70 k on a rebuilt engine I'll probably put another 10 k on it by the time I do suspension and other things to handle the power of a turbo kit.

Hellion makes the best bolt on turbo kit imo.

super expensive but very good, HPPERFORMANCE has very nice stuff too, but for a cheaper build check out B&G turbo, treadstone performance, and cheapest yet On 3 performance their kit is 1500 bucks!

my conservative tune is 8lb-10lbs and my stock heads have never been off the car... ie stock heads/gaskets and shit so it can be done just have to have a bunch of money/time tied up in the tune and not be a complete douchebag behind the wheel 100% of the time

RE

I've got a friend whom ran a stock block car with around 150k on it and I am pretty sure he was running a bit over 10 lbs for a long period of time before it finally laid down. Now also keep in mind he is beyond an expert turbo guy, he actually does build/design type applications, this guy currently has a small block car that can handle 36lbs maybe more I am not totally sure, I do know at 36lbs its making around 1600 rwhp to run low 5's in the 8th. By the way thats a street car

Low 5's would be about low to mid 8's in the 1/4. 1600whp should be good for alot quicker.

I wouldn't put anything with a 42 ar on on my fox. Sounds like a small small turbo.

The 93 used hypereutectic pistons, not forged pistons like the previous years. Not sure about 94-95 though.
