Drag Suspension Setup?

I have a 93 LX and I want to set the suspeneion up right. I really want to lower it but I fear that with less rebound on the spring, that it would kill my 60ft. The only racing that I would be doing is drag, so Im not worried about cornering. I have 17in Cobra R's w 275/40 drag radials and 373's. Like I said before I really want to lower it 1.5-2inches, so what is the best way for me to set my suspension up?? Also I dont want to spend an arm and a leg on suspension parts
Thank You
Scott

well lowering it and using 17 inch cobra Rs and drag racing dont really go together. my car stock other than 4.10s with cobra Rs and street tires lowered went 14.10 but with 15 inch weld wheels and slicks it went 13.89

I have 4cyl. springs and 90\10 up front no sway bars and lakewood traction bars. My car pitches alot during turns but it is not that bad the struts make it ride like a coupe de ville, the only good adj. drag struts are the ones that you can adjust rebound, and compression seperately$$$, I have stock control arms and stock bushings and the car launches good. low 1.80s for low 13s N/A. I can even fit a piece of paper under my driver side front tire. The 4cyl springs lower the car just a little too.

Lowering the car will not hurt it as long as you don't use a weak low tension spring to do it.......usually. But those 17 inch wheels with tires that don't have any side wall aren't helping you at all.

Yeah I have 17 in R rims also and it is impossibe to have a good 60' time anyway.. I have to use slicks.. I am not sure but I would think that if you do lower the car you might have rubbing issues if you decide to run a slick..

Get upper and lower control arms, get rid of the swaybars and if you can afford it get a set of the Strange Engineering adjustable struts and adjustable shocks. I used to have Lakewood 90\10's on the front and 50\50 on the rear and without the sway bars it was way to "washy" for me. Those Strange units are awesome soft at the strip and stiff on the street.. Makes up some on not having swaybars.. And if you are gonna race someone on the street then give-em a couple of clicks and your ready...

+1 on the strange 10 way adjustables. and lowering your car would make problems for running a slick unless you stick with a 26 tall tire.

The Strange units I have are 5 way adjust. I like that better myself. they are easier to adjust where you want them with less settings.. IMO

+1 on the Strange. The Strange setup will make you very happy.

Having the ability to control the damping force on your suspension is great for any vehicle. Even moreso if you use it in a competitive nature
