Best tire size on 17x9's?

Just ordered some 17x9, 03 Cobra wheels for my 88. The car is lowered with Eibach Sportlines and wondering the best size to go with. Wanna get Nitto's with DR's in the rear.

Was thinking maybe 275/40R-17's in the rear, 245/45R-17's up front. Anyone agree with this? Disagree? Thanks.

Yep, that would be perfect.

just watch out for the curbs with 245s out front, but that will be perfect for 17x9s...... I am running 275s all round on 17X9s and they work great.....

275s out back and 255s in the front. The 245s look to small on a 9'".

Well, I ordered the rear tires last night. Was $100 short for the front. But spent over $1500 the past couple of days. Oh well, guess your input on the front is stll considered. And it's greatly appreciated.

Really concerned about the front and wanna get it right cause right now it has 245/45R-17's up there and it's tight up there. I think I've heard it rub but could possibly be bad ball joints. Not sure just yet and not sure what it even looks like in there with the front wheels off.

255/40-17's? Or 255/45-17's? Guessing the 40 has the smaller sidewall?

I got 245/45R17 0n 97 (I think) Cobra wheels. I rub the fronts at about 90% lock. Car is lowered 2" W/ Eibach. Check this web site for definitive tire size info www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage Hope it helps

I would personally go with the 255/45 on the front so it fills up the fenderwell nicely and then 275/40 in the rear.

I have a set of 274/40/17 in the front. Granted mine is a sn-95 and it's not lowered it doesn't rub at all. Not even on a full turn lock

For anyone who cares to know, I ordered 255/45R-17's for the front. My drag radials are here, just waiting on the new wheels and front tires to show up. I'll post pics once installed. Thanks for the advice guys.

For anyone who's wondering, I got the wheels and tires in and installed on the car. Thought ya'll might wanna see what I installed on it.

Before...

Wheels and tires...

In the rain...

And nice day out...

I haven't driven the car yet cause I'm thinkin the fenders need to be rolled to be on the safe side and the brake lines in the rear are against the tires so need to pull them in...somehow. Just thought ya'll would like to see how it looked. Haven't had the car long though, but have plenty of stuff planned.

Have fun shinin' up all that chrome lol.
Tip: Find a product that has a teflon base in it. Will help TONS w/ the breakdust. Dupont makes their whole line with teflon... hint hint
