I will say one thing...Make sure you disengage the fuel cutoff button. then turn the key and see if the fuel pump comes on. If you have a hatch back, it is in the hatch behind the trim right by the hatch striker. I was swapping mine out and got gas on my face... Other than that. it is just taking lines off and putting them back on.
1. Depressurize the system.
2. Run all the gas out of the lines.
3. Put the rear end up on jacks.
4. Using the Ford fuel line tools, slip off the oil filter.
5. Put the new one on.
Done. Re-enable the inertia swtich, re pressurize the system.
It has been about a year, but i think you just push it in. I am not for sure though, i forget....if you cannot push it in then take it off. you will know when it is off when you turn the key and do not hear your fuel pump kick on.
the filter is in front of the tank on the passerger side, there are two pull-tabs on each side, pull-em slide the lines off swap it out. wear safty glasses cause the retainer is usually full of crud.
To depressurize the fuel system, Start ur car then unhook the inertia switch in the trunk or hatch area then locate the fuel filter in front of the tank then pull the clips out of the holes of the lines then pull ur filter out then replace it and installation is reverse for removal! The clips are a pain in the ass to get out so watch them.
Well, you can go that route, but I'd still do it the right way. Even if you use that to depressurize the system, you're going to have a lot of fuel in the lines. Wearing gasoline isn't fun.
