I would take it in before ditching injection.
No sir, I haven't taken it to a mechanic yet, but i haven't rulled it out yet either. I don't have another vehicle to drive so i can't take it and leave it somewhere. plus i'm running out of money and i don't want to get stuck with a bill that i can't afford.

I don't like them for all out builds but I think they're fine for your street/light track use car like mine's gonna be. If I was going with a radical NA build or going with boost, I'd go Holly all the way!

The only thing an edelbrock carb is good for is chunking at your chevy buddy who's talking smack on your ford.

Holley's are more finicky about the weather, or altitude changes, but that's because they meter the fuel mixture more acurately, a well tuned holley style carb will usually be worth about 15hp over an edlebrock carb.

agreed, if your going performance, go holley, or demon, edlebrocks are more street carbs.

even tho in my opinion ditching the efi is a bad decision.

Yes sir, I firmly believe that! However, I'm talking about a fully race prepped holley, or one of the aftermarket equivelants (sp) i.e. demon carbs or something simillar. Not one of the universal 600cfm $200 holleys from summit.

with propper tuning a carb like this one should easily be able to achieve 15 more horsepower than a standard street style edlebrock carb.

I can see a 15 hp gain over a edelbrock carb compared to a full race carb. I thought you were referring to an average holley.

When i had my last motor built up a bit, before throwing it in the car we put it on an engine dyno and tested it with a edelbrock and a holley. And just dropping the holley on and not really tuning it it made an extra 9hp. But thats flywheel.

The one thing ill throw out there is that ive been hearing ALOT of bad things about the new demons. I had ran one before and thought about putting one on my 331 but all the shops ive been to said not to go with them. They are pretty mass produced now and apparently quality control has gone down the pooper. Heard about people finding filings in them, boosters not drilled, stuff thats scary when your putting it on a very expensive motor.
