Track heat or twisted wedge

I would like to get a power package from trick flow but I have a few questions.

1. twisted wedge or track heat? it will go on my daily driver

2. I want to go with the stage 2 cam but I dont know what power package it comes with or if it is even an option as far as kits go. if the cam does not come with it, what part number do I look for?

3. with the stage two cam from trick flow, Do I have to cut the pistons or any machine work at all.

4. I would like to get 10:1 compression if I mill the heads would that force me to cut the pistons?

5. After all this and 3.73 gears with AOD what stall converter speed do I get? Do you recommend B&M?

1 - Twisted Wedge heads are smog legal and Track Heats are not. Other than that they are the same head.

2 - I don't believe that cam comes in a power package.

3 - Chances are the valves will clear just fine with that cam due to the design of the Twisted Wedge heads.

4 - Milling the heads will obviously bring the valves closer to the pistons. You won't know if you will have interference problems until you check valve to piston clearance. You should always check valve to piston clearance.

5 - some where in the 3000 rpm range would be a good stall speed for the converter. B&M, TCI, etc are all pretty close in quality for of the shelf converters.

In the package the cam is included and timing chain and other goodies, make sure you shop around like;
www.summit.com
www.trickflow.com
good luck.

that cam does not come with the kit. the cam should clear as darrell said with the design of the TW heads. but checking the PTV when assembling is always recommended. I believe the part number for the cam you are looking for is TFS-51402001. but i am at school right now and do not have the resources to look. but if i remember correctly that is it.

Yeah, read #5 in Darrel's last post! I got a B&M converter in the 2200-2800 rpm range. I cannot tell you how it does because it is still in the box, but now i wish i had bought a 3400 stall just from what people tell me.

Buy the package - save some $$$
Sell the cam on Ebay or to someone here. Buy the Stage 2 cam and slap her in!

What, ask them if i can swap out mine for another? I will do that at the beginning of the week man. I hope they let me, I am going to have a little too much motor for just a 2200-2800 converter.

Yeah try that... Tell them that you are building your car and will be buying lots more parts and would like to buy from them and it was your fault...

I've always heard a stall is a waist of money on the street and kills fuel mileage... one reason I'm not even considering one in my car

Ahh no thats not true as long as you pick one that does not have to high of a stall speed. You have a V8 Mustang!!! Who gives a shit about fuel mileage? Unless you have a mid to high modded car its not worth it to put a stall speed converter in anyway. So if you have a car that fits the bill I dont think fuel economy is a factor....
