Rust and what to do.

So in doing my project, I noticed under my battery box there is a considerable amount of rust there, and a few other spots in the engine bay. Do yall have / had rust and what did you do.

Also another idea I had was rino or line x in the engine bay, good or bad idea.

Tim

Is the motor in or out of the car? is the car running?

I had some rust on my 2000 when I got it around the trunk lid. I just had a shop fix it.

I wouldnt use linex or rhino. that stuff is pretty heavy i believe.

+1 linex and rhino are very heavy so if you are trying cut out weight than do not go this route. Instead if the rust is just at the battery box cut it out and relocate the battery lol...

How bad is the rust? Is it surface or all the way through? If not all the way through, just prep and paint the areas. There is rust 'coverting' sprays out there too, not sure if they actually work though.

It is all surface rust, I was thinking of getting my old wire brushed to it and nock it all off and painting it, Something kinda close to the DFG... I think I will try this route 1st, I dont mind the rust on the K member since I will be replacing it soon
