You get what you pay for, but........
Explorer intakes off of 97 1/2 or newer. Gt-40 heads. purchase a used exhaust, etc.

Low budget? Scavenge from Ford's other 5.0 engines. Get GT40, or better yet, GT40P heads from the Explorers or Mountaineers.
97 and lower for GT40s. 97 1/2 and newer for GT40Ps. You can even get Explorer intakes; look on page 3 or 4 of the 5.0 forum to find some good info about which year intakes you want. Hit the junkyards and check V8 Thunderchickens for a throttle body. They had bigger stock than a Mustang of the same year. Also, 95 Cobra? had a 70mm MAF. Try 94-95 GT/Cobra, I can't remember off the top of my head. It helps out, just re use your old sensor. For cheap mods, get an under drive pulley kit. Get a cheap CAI. Everyone else here seems to be against it, but don't fear eBay. It's just a swap meet in cyberspace. |
