Trying being you? Interesting .. . .

Anyways, it shouldn't be a huge power difference. But it's a valid point that you need low NA compression to run boost, atleast for our lovely 5.0 engines. I never intend to do forced induction, but that's just me.

It just depends how much boost you want to run in the future. That'll determinte how high your compression can go now.

I'm pretty sure you can run stock engines with 10 to 12 pounds of boost with no problem. So if you don't plan on exceeding that, just get some pistons that give you 9:1 for now, you wouldn't lose any power, and you can boost plenty later.

I am kinda feeling the same way as you. I mean having a N/A car is badass. Have one that can run 10s or 11s or so, is pretty sweet! The more i think about it, i think i am just going to keep the compression up to 10.5:1 and then if i want to run a power adder, then i will just get another mustang... Another goal of mine is to drop a 351 in a SN-95, might just throw some nitrous on that bad boy!

That "try being me" comment, yeah just forget i said that!

Yeah, the only forced induction I would ever get it a twin screw, belt driven Roots style supercharger. Something with a blower hat coming out of the hood.

I just don't like the turbo or centrifugal supercharger whine. There's something disenchanting about it. I mean, even a damn moron can put a supercharger on a car and make good horsepower. Woohoo. That doesn't mean you have any particular skill or knowledge. It was a kit that came in a box.

Plus, how are you supposed to sneak up on anyone with that whine? Disregarding completely the fact that it sounds ricey anyway. I'll take my NA, V8 dual exhaust note any day.

Yeah, there was a guy on here, TT86?, that put up a video of his car finally running with twin turbo.

More power to you, I'm glad it's working for you TT86, but after watching the video I'm most certain that I don't want to hear the turbos spinning up for the rest of my life. Centrifugal superchargers aren't much different to me. Just not my cup of octane. . ..

Tony I have bet if you set up your car at 8.5-9.0:1 as comapred to 10.5:1 you just might lose at least 70-75 hp.. Maybe more I am not sure. That is something you are gonna have to ask your engine builder or the one who is sellin you the parts.. or maybe Darrell will chime in on this one...?

If you put boost on a car with 10.5:1 compression chances are its gonna turn into a nice meltdown shortly down the road.. Even if you have a perfect tune.. then you prob will just blow head gaskets like they are goin out of style..

i think i will just take the 75 or whatever horsepower and keep this bad boy non aspirated. Or get new pistons when i want a power adder. Hopefully i will be satisfied with a close to 400 hp engine, but you know how it goes, you always crave more!
