oil problem

i just installed a new 302 that i built....the engine started first try, however...a few seconds or so after i started it, it began to smoke...i know it is burning large amounts of oil...well i was so pissed, i didnt mess with it again until tonight...i pulled the plenum off, and there was about half to a quarter of a quart of oil that ran out of the plenum itself. me, my father and my grandfather cannot figure out where the oil is entering the intake. my oil pressure also stays buried at idle, and it only rises intermitenly....does anyone have any suggestions or has anyone experienced this before????

did you install the pcv screen below the pcv valve? you may need to add a second pcv valve to slow the velocity of the crankcase fumes, since the fumes carry oil into the upper. check this thread out: http://www.freewebs.com/vristang/pcv...trolissues.htm and this one: http://mustangpartstech.com/PCVOilControl.html

also are you using the FRPP cobra intake? they have an issue with the baffle that goes under the pcv...but Ford will give you a new better baffle free of charge, provided that you are the original purchaser of the manifold.

Make sure you installed that 3/4 inch freeze out plug underneath the intake towards the back of the engine. Once you plug it, the oil should circulate and you should get oil pressure.

well, i installed the pcv screen, tonight. i also discovered that the wire to the oil pressure sensor, the rubber boot has a cut, which could cause a intermitent reading....i will post if i have the problem solved...
