I had a lot of noise coming from my package tray area. I mean, it's getting pretty old (140,000 miles) so I guess it's normal for the package to start failing. It's not very predictable, sometimes everything works right and you don't hear any complaints. But sometimes you just get in a weird position and there's a lot of noise and the performance goes out the window.

I solved my package tray problems by getting some better supports. Some large control arms ought to help hold everything in place, especially if you have an older, larger package tray area. Sometimes the bushings wear out. Sometimes you need to just trade in for a new model. Alternatively, just use a lot of lube and see if it helps as a temporary fix.

Psst, goodyear, I'll clue you in. Obviously, you don't have a dick, but for those of us that do, sometimes they're called a "package". If you read my post as an innuendo (http://wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn?s=innuendo) you'll see that it's actually kinda funny. haha!
