Metal heater hoses alternative

Does anyone have any good ideas that I can use to get rid of the metal heater hoses over the lower intake. I still need the temp sensor (or move it if need be), cool the EGR, and supply my heater core though.

Frustration I guess. They seem to be in the way all of the time. It's my own doing I guess because I still have everything... AC, EGR, smog pump, all of the TAD, and TAB emissions diverters and solenoid stuff, canister purge etc.. + the SC and its plumbing. If there is a decent alternative to using the metal pipes, I'd consider switching to it. Like I said, just venting I guess cause today they were in the way again and I picked up the wrong freaking heater hose as well. A simple job like lower intake gaskets that should take an hour or so ends up taking many hours because of interference removal and shit in the way. Okay, I'm done venting.

there is no simpler swap since you want to keep everything else, and the factory metal tube set up still keeps everything nicer then any other alternative.

I'd leave it alone unless you ditch allot or most of that stuff honestly plus they are getting hard to find and are fetching some godo prices used over on corral.net lately.

Yeah I doubt it could take up any less room, ditch them and keep a jacket in your car

i beg to differ...I had to come up with an alternative solution to those metal heater hoses to clear my intake and fuel rails...I think that what I did looks pretty clean, and I don't see y someone couldnt do it just because they wanted to...I still had to use a small portion of the metal tube, the portion with the threaded end and sensor in it, however i cut the rest of the rails off, now the metal rails are replaced by some very flexible rubber hose purchased from the parker store...heres how it came out...pics arent the greatest but you get the idea.

overall they go pretty unnoticed in the engine compartment, and tuck nicely between the valve cover and manifold. let me know if you need any additional info or more detailed pics.

Why? You running a standard rotation waterpump rather then the stock type counter clock wise or reverse rotation waterpump?

From the way his belt is run it looks like a reverse rotation... which is what he needs is it not, if his pump is stock? I have a forward rotation on my engine though.

You don't have to change to a standard rotation pump if you are using an electric fan just use a shorter belt like I have been using for three years now on my turbo car. Here's an old pic allot has changed since but the belt routing is still the same.

While this is true, i would steer away from it... reason being is with it wrapped around on a standard rotation like mine (pic), you have nearly 1/4 of the belt touching the pully for rotating power... the way you have it, you have barely an 1/8... thats the way I looked at it and decided against going reverse rotation for that reason.

Sorry for the thread jack...

I plan on routing my heater hoses on top of my valve cover, as my sensor won't clear the fuel rails, not as nice as the above example, and kinda chevy style, but having a heater was the only stipulation the old lady had for me spending thousands:

although a valid point, it's enough contact because I haven't had issues with it in years of use. I also have my syclone setup the same way without issue. If you have the mechanical fan still though then you'll have slippage and I wouldn't recommend my way.

my belt set up.

uses the stock placement of the power steering with the A/C, but a/c is gone now. used a alternator bracket as the tensor, and hung it extra low for a clean look, and to make the heads the focal point of the hole motor.

BEFORE (previous owner went crazy with chrome and blue wire loom)

now after hiding wires, pulling a/c and emissions, and the new accessories set up.
