1986 5.0 Loss of power above 2500 RPM , and backfire

Hey everyone, hopefully someone could help shed some light on this for me, Car runs into a dead spot (only with a load on) above 2500 rpm, begins to backfire periodicly. Fireing order ok, no vacum leaks..cannot see any leaky injectors, I swapped the TPS but no change. I also pulled the spout connector for the advance and drove it but no change, I have no residual pressure at the schrader valve when the engine is off. Any help would be appreciated..

Well you should have pressure in that valve when the car shuts down.. You should be able to push that pin and fuel should squirt out pretty good.. I would suspect the fuel pump.. Its in the gas tank if you dont know where it is.. And make sure you spend the few extra $$ it costs and put a 255lph pump in there. It will leave you room to grow and you wont have to take the tank out again to upgrade down the road..
