Converting Auto -> Manual

I'm curious if anyone has any idea on how much it will cost to convert a auotmatic to a manual. any good websites that i can go to that will provide me with prices or something?? Looking to know what best manual trans is good. and other items. possibly do it myself so i would need some instructions. tired of automatics on the highway all day...So any websites or ideas?

It really depends where you get the parts. if you can scrounge used parts you could get it done for under $600. if you go all new parts and still use a rebuilt T5 tranny You could spend near $1500. I don't the know the quality but Ebay has some rebuilt T5s for like $695. Or Esean I think is his name, he does quality rebuilds from what I hear.

I wouldn't spend the money on a brand new T-5, myself. For that kind of money you could get a used T56.

+1 its not that hard to find if you search. Try google, ebay craigslist, there are cars at mustang salvage yards that you can take everything from. Try CJ Pony they have their own mustang salvage yard. There is one other place that sells complete conversions but I can't think of their name they are on ebay.

I keep searching, and one site mentioned that you need a manual drive shaft. Is that true?

Depends what all it still has besides the clutch pedal left behind from it's original manual awesomeness. Does it still have all the switches on the clutch pedal? Does it still have the manual trans harness tail? Did someone hack that harness tail up to put the autotragic in it?

And to answer a question a few posts back, manual and automatic driveshafts interchange, but they're not identical. One is a little heavier (I forget which) due to having a collar (which I presume is for harmonic dampening) welded on it.
