Fuel Problems Burning Rich / Burning Lean

I have a 89 LX that seems to not be burning fuel right. If I sit an idle and then pull the plugs I have 1 or 2 plugs that are chocolate brown and then then the rest of them are either white or a light grayish color. If I drive the car and then pull them they are all grey or white. Somethings not right but I dont know what. I also noticed that the vacum hose that comes off the vacum tree on the firewall that goes on the upper intake on the back if you pull that off the intake the hose has oil that drips out of it. This is a 302 with 24# injectors, 75mm TB, C&L MAF, and a Edelbrock 5.0 performer manifold and intake. I have tried setting my fuel at 35 and 40 and still does the same thing. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Fuel Problems Burning Rich / Burning Lean

Where your two browned plugs wet? if so get new plugs. Try cleaning your MAF sensor, carefully (i never have myself but had a similar problem and was told to do this with brake cleaner). When i thought i had a fuel pressure issue i was told 39lbs is the optimum to set the regulator at.

Do not use brake parts cleaner. There are specific sprays to use on electronics, look for those.

YES there are sprays specific to electronics and electronic connectors. one quick blast and the MAF is clean....no need of taking it off either...just take the air filter off....
