Hey bro I talked to my buddy that has that set up (not sure what brand) but he called the company and they had said that it is normal (company technician). But regardless he says that it still annoys the shit out of him. Ill let you know what brand he has when I talk to him later on tonight.

How much backspace do you have on the front wheels? I've always wanted to fit 17's with coilovers up front

I have the 17x8 Cobra wheels. They came with the car I never measured them but my guess is prob 5.5 to 6? The springs are pretty close but do not rub....

I dont run a k-member for that reason. I was going to, until I started reading up on them and found out that most of the set ups will squeek and make noise.

Well that's not my concern I just want to make sure its normal and I did it for the weight loss because I want to get the front wheels off the ground at the track.. And I run long tube headers, and there is nothin like workin on your car with a K-Member.. More room than you know what to do with...

The front strut towers on fox bodies were never designed to hold the entire wight of the front of the car and will eventually crack. Your hearing things cry for help.

No its not a cry for help I just put them on a couple a months ago. How is it any different than the stock setup? The spring is still in the center and pushes up like the coil overs do.. Also the coil-over springs I have do not exert as much as the stockers do.. I dont think thats the case.. It has more to do with the design of the K-Member... I dont buy what you said...

??????????????????

On the stock setup the weight of the car is put on the spring that is set between the lower control arm and the FRAIL RAIL! The only thing pushing on the strut tower is the damper (strut). Big difference.

But the weight difference because of the aftermarket K-member makes mostly up for it.. Any way its not a cry for help.. My towers are solid as can be... There is still alot of upward pressure on the whole system anyway stock or not.. But whatever.. Thats not a concern of mine anyway.. But thanks for your input 55...

I hope that they dont make noise! Im getting ready to install:

D&D K Member
D&D A Arms
D&D Coil Over Kit w/ 10" 250lb springs
Strange 10 Way Adj. Struts
Maximum Motorsports C/C Plates

Depending on spring size you can fit 18's on your car with the right spring. I know w/ D&D 17's should fit on a 12" spring... but the smaller the spring your launch will suffer. I think Im going to get a set for the track also, maybe like a 14" 150lb spring... dunno yet. GL and let me know how it goes!

that upward pressure is for the k-member not the flimsy strut towers on the mustang.that's one of reasons why there's a "modified" MacPherson strut.use a k-member with spring pockets on a street mustang or at least use a strut tower brace if you must have coil over's.

if you can't get the front wheels off the ground with the stock k-member you got other problems.
