Rolling start compared to standing start

This might be a dumb question but my gt is soooooooo much faster taking off at about 10mph than a regular launch. I've got 4.10's and Hankooks HRII's so if i just drop the clutch it will spin all day. I can walk it out of first and get a pretty good launch. What gives?

If you had this car you wouldn't have this problem... you need a bigger wing and slicks

It seriously pulls really hard from about 5-10mph.Not so much from a standing start

Its because your already in your powerband as well. Cars always make more power at a higher RPM, so your already around... ima guess like 2-3k RPMs so if you gas it then you will get more get up and go. It just feels faster because the torque is spontaneous instead of a more gradual approach than coming out from a dead stop.

Your launch from a stop should be faster than a rolling start. The goal is to have the tires spin just a bit or not at all. If you make a bunch of smoke and leave dark black tracks, you will go slower. I could smoke 1st, then second, and not go 20'. It may be fun, but its not fast.

Everyone thinks drag racing is as easy as standing in it and going. It takes a lot of practice to be able to figure it out.

what's worse is when you've learned your car pretty damn good then you change something and have to start all over
