washington state patrol had 150 of them at one point. my cousin ended up finding one for a good price and has modded it pretty nicely. ive always kinda wondered what the dif was between a cop car mustang and just a normal lx coupe was.

Nothing in the engine compartment other than an oil cooler. Rear was a 2.08 for the high speed... so slow on the take offs. High temp silicon hoses, single key for all the locks, trunk button relocated under the dash by the drivers' knee. And prolly a few other things I am forgetting.

maybe since my cousin has a stick the gearing is different...? his car pulls pretty good in any gear and definitely doesnt have a prob spinning the tires.

Souce? I don't even think 2.08s would fit in the pumpkin. I'm 99% sure those things had 3.08s (which were a factory option on non-SSPs).

Near as I know, the only thing special about the SSP cars was the police gear. Might've had different shocks and brake pads, but nothing that wouldn't have been replaced since back when they were in duty.

I was just going by what he said, but that was 10 years ago. After doing a quick google search, I don't believe 2.08's were even a gear for Ford. Although, the rest of the stuff is on the lists

Welcome to the SSP Mustang Page!
