Why do you want to remove the solid cam? A solid cam is plenty streetable, especially a low lift cam like yours. They ran solid cams from the factory for years. So you might have to set valve lash once a year, big deal. A solid cam is superior to any hydraulic cam whether it is a flat tappet or roller. The 30lb injectors will work fine. You could put 24lb injectors in if you want but the 30 lbers won't hurt anything and will give you room to grow. Besides you would have to have your mass air recalibrated if you changed injectors.

i was told the solid cam would eventually hurt my valve springs...by a mechanic who drag races. should i just keep this set up? the engine also has 1.6 roller rockers to.........also what do you think i'm running for horsepower? ball park.....engine has stock rebulit lower end.........
also could i just install hydralic lifters? maybe roller? excuse me but i'm new to the solid cam deal......thank you

The only thing that would hurt the springs is excessive lift... whether hydrolic or solid it doesn't matter. The only disadvantage with solid's having to adjust the valves to compensate for wear, as pointed out already. Usually alittle noiser too, especially when it gets close to adjustment time.

Big solid cams (.700+ lift) require stiff valve springs which do not have a long life. Your cam is only .500 lift so the valve springs aren't going to wear out prematurely unless they are not the right springs for the cam to begin with. No you can not just install hydraulic lifters. You would have to get a different cam. The ramp profile is totally different. As far as horsepower goes, its hard to tell without knowing more specifics but I'd say you are in the 300 hp range at the wheels.
