Wow sell to some idiot who reads that then!!! And why on earth are you RESTORING a car with less then 50K? I hope you did not buy your ride as a 93 COBRA convertible!!! Also where did you get the info that your vert has 340hp? Hopefully not from the guy who sold you the 93 vert cobra. Dont mean to be rude. But Info only helps before a Purchase.

It seems carfax screwed up all 93 cobras have telltale stuff such as the cobra intake 24lb inj.(blue) rear disc brakes ,cobra T/Ls,cobra wheels, cobra spoiler, cobra grill, cobra rear bumper. If you didnt get ripped off on the price keep it.If i remember correctly the 93 cobra was 5 lug also
Call up your local ford dealership and havem run your vin.Wierder stuff has happened maybe its a one of a kind.

No...wasn't told by the previous owner it was a cobra. We bought it off ebay a couple years ago for $1,500. Fell in love with the body style of the 93 convertible and that is why we bought it.

Haines manual says its 340 hp.

Haines says 340? I believe the 302 H.O in 93 is 225HP stock?.

I would like to be helpful. What would you like to know? Are you looking for direction for your project or what your car is worth?

We bought the car from the original owner. The car has been kept in the garage and we don't drive it. We drove it from New Jersey (where we bought it) to Maryland and it has been parked since. We are just now getting around to starting the restoration on it. Yeah, we paid 1500. for it off of ebay.

your pretty lucky to get a hatch or notch for that price with those miles on it.......a vert can easily run at least a grand over what one of the others would cost with the same mileage.

Here's an unrelated question...why is the new Shelby GT 500 Convertible Cobras 72,000? MSRP is only 43,500.

They may be for sale for that high but that does not mean someone is going to buy it.
My friend had a low mileage 88LX 5.0 he got from an old lady who kept it in a garage. He was trying to make a quick buck from it and put it up for sale in one of the classic car/ford trader mags for about a year at $8K and did not receive a single offer over $4K.
I'm sure someone somewhere would pay $8K for it eventually but he would probably be waiting a long time for that someone to show up.

there are stupid people with lotsa money who have to have be the first on the block to have one.Id buy a 03-04 and add a twin turbo kit and make 800hp and save a lot of $$$.Iwannagofast it takes a lot of power to move a near 4000lb car and with wind resistance at high speeds. If you spent 1500 on a vert with under 50000miles you are way ahead of the game.
