HELP....lady with a 93 GT Convertible needs info

I have a 1993 Mustang GT 5.0 convertible, 5 spd with 47,000 original miles. I am in the process of restoring. Carfax indicates as GT cobra. I have been informed that the GT Cobra convertible does not exist, but the car is all stock and according to the body shop there has never been any modifications. Here's the tricky part.........it has GT front, GT side skirts, Cobra rear, Cobra wing, Cobra rear tail lights...so what the f@#* is it!! Is it worth restoring it back to a GT if it is only a GT? And what is the value of that car? Any help you all could pass my way would be greatly appreciated! Not a candian car though....manufactured in US.

look up the vin another way other than carfax. i dont see a reason to make a cobra a convertible, but people have done some stupid things.. and also.. people can be wrong. ive never heard of a cobra convertible.. but who knows. call a ford dealer and ask. give them the vin and say what the hell do i have?

Don't know if this helps, but adds to the mystery as only hatch backs are shown for 93 Cobras

I know before 93 all GT's came back as GT Cobra's. It may be the same thing.

But yeah, the intakes are different, the injectors should be different too.

Thanks for the help so far. So, maybe it is a modified GT...now, is it worth putting back to its original and what would the value of it be?

P.S. 302 engine/340 horsepower. Is that 5.0 or Cobra?

That would be some nice mods to get 340 horsepower. the stock 93 cobra might have had 240, the GT 215-225 i believe. somebody correct me if i am wrong.

excuse me?!

you must mean the ford gt. not a mustang gt. theres no way a 93 mustang gt is worth 20k. the ford gt is a 5.4L two seater overpriced rocket that i would love to have. it always came with 4 wheel disc brakes. the mustang gt is a 5.0L has a quasi backseat and drum brakes in the back.
