How to Identify 351 From 302

I have a 302 right now but long story short... I met this guy yesterday that wanted to run cars together, well he mentioned that he's got a 400ci and a 351ci engine. Right now I can give a smack if the 351 is a winsor or Clevend. All I want to know is how to tell if this engine is a real 351 not a 302.

I'm not taking off my intake manifold just to test or buy another one to test. s there a way to identify this so called 351 without paying for it first?

Thanks

I believe the max stroke is 347 for a 302ci engine and no. MY MOTOR is a 302, the motor I am LOOK AT NOW is claimed to be 351. True 351 not a b/s 351. So I already got fucked out of 400 of a claimed 351 which was a 302 after the pistons told me, so before I fork another 500 to someone imma make sure it's a true 351 this time

If you can measure deck height, you'll know what it is for shizzle.

if you happen to have a 302 intake handy try it on the suspected 351W
and if it fits its not a 351 and in fact a 302

Now that's what I'm talking about. That helps out. Can I also measure from the bottom of the block where the oil pan meets the block, and measure to the top?

you'd be better off measuring from the center of the crank to the deck 9.5".I just circled where it's the easiest and quickest why to tell.

Did you not see where I just said I HAVE A 302??? I beleive I can tell the 302. It's the 351 I needed to know and to be honest, that pic the other guy showed me was waay more accurate than that. If it helps, that's for showing me an assembled block outside of the engine so thanks.

Of course a close up would be nice though.
