Biggest Wheelsize for a 88-93 GT

I am currently looking for a 88-93 convertible GT and I was wondering what is the biggest size wheel you can put on it with scrubbing? I am not looking to put no 20's or 18's for that matter but I am curious what is the biggest wheel you can put on it?

I have a 91' convertible with the Ford Racing road race springs and the rubber spacers pulled out. It dropped the car around 1.5"-1.75" in the front. I am running the 17" wheels that were optional on the 95' coupes. The tires are 245/45ZR17. I did have to remove the plastic inner fenders to fit the tires. It only rubs when I am cranking the wheel hard over going slow (parking). I also put on caster/camber plates and steering rack bushings to ensure proper alignment.

The front spindles are out of a 95' coupe. I do not know how 17"s will work on a 4 lug setup. As long as you check (measure twice, cut once) the backspacing and width (or have a reputible shop do it for you), you shouldn't have a problem.

So far everything is working fine. I need the 17" wheels to clear the 13" rotors in front. One of these days I will get pictures up...

Thats my experience, hope it helps.

I think 17"s or 18"s are plenty big.

yeah from my experience 17x9 are about the most popular for the foxs...... a lot of people agree on 255/45 in front and 275/40 in back.....this setup doesnt take much altering of fenders and such unless your sittin pretty low to the ground.....you may have to roll the fenders a lil........but its like you said foxs arent for putting 20 and 22 inch rims.....i have seen one with twenties though.

I'm going with a 5 lug conversion, with some 17x8's
