how big of a maf


heres my set up edelbrock rpm heads, rpm 2 intake 70mm tb, 30lb injectors, 540 lift cam, 1.7 rocker arms, and the motor is bored out to a 306 with dish pistons, how big shoul I go on the maf 75mm or 80mm?

Why not get a bigger on? 90mm Lightning MAF are cheap and leave lots of room to play with.

you should match your maf size to the power you plan on making
cuz too small of one will cause a restriction and may peg and mess up your A/F ratio

How can you have too small a one that messes up your A/F ratio? MAF sets reports your air flow, so . . .it can only report as much as it draws. Getting too small a one may cost your performance, but I don't think it'll hurt your engine.

But yeah, 70+, go for it. As long as it's properly calibrated for your injectors, get whatever fits your budget.

Mass air meter should be the same size or bigger than your throttle body.. In your case I would not go bigger than a 80mm..

You can put as big of a mass air meter on as you want and it will not cause any problems. It is one of the only times where bigger is always better.

When i asked about a good MAF a lot of people said the pro-m is pretty good.....
