Add this Trick Flow kit: along with a 70mm throttle body & spacer, 24 lbs injectors, matching 75/76mm mass air, some BBK shortie headers, with your H-pipe and cat back, along with a 255lph in tank fuel pump and some 3.73 gears and you'll have an outstanding performer and should still be in your budget! Other things that I would add at the same time are: full length subframe connectors, upper & lower rear control arms, poly axle bushings and probably a set of drag radial tires!

If your goal is to beat the 6, then buy gears, and bet the leftover 3800 on the race, then spend the 7600 on your car.

long tube headers bro.. anyone with suggestions on which headers will be best for me? Ive decided to take a lil advice frm the the guy a couple posts up..and I orderd myself 24lbs injectors,76mm mass air,and a bbk cold air intake ![]() I also just got my bbk Hpipe put on today to replace the stock one..flowmasters sound alot better now. Soo the next thing on my list will definatly be headers and gears.. how r the 3.73 gears? |

Get some 4.10's!!!
long tubes are a bitch to install. I would get some shorties if you already bought an h-pipe. because with longtubes you would need to buy another h-pipe to fit. get some BBK shorties to match up nice the the BBK h |

wow... i remember when i first got my car
if you really wanna go any kind of forced induction, you already need bigger injectors and your stock block prob won't last too long, depending on the size of the charger and boost. your prob still in the 14 sec zone, maybe 13.9 at best if your looking to save money, look into gt40heads and intake and, do you have an aod or t-5? |

I have a 5 speed and 3.73's made a big difference. You won't be disappointed! If it's an AOD, maybe 4.10's - don't know there. Show that Mazda how nice your rear bumper looks

yea my GT is auto.. :p
do the gears have anything to do with gas mileage?..because thats really not a factor for me..my job is literally like 5minutes away frm where I live..so 4.10's?? and gt40 heads or bbk equal length shorties?? |

For a mostly/all stock5.0, I wouldn't go any lower than 3.73s unless it's a track car.
$4k will get you a pretty nice setup if you plan it out right. It's also a lot of money to blow on things that won't help you if you just throw a bunch of parts at the car. My suggestion is to start with looking at how you drive the car, and how you want to drive the car. Do you ever want the car to be a decent handler? Are you into street racing and top-end speed? 1/4 mile only? Without knowing what exactly you want out of the car, it's almost impossible to suggest good mods. What I can tell you is that the two things that have bar-none the BIGGEST effect on your cars performance are your tires and your shocks. No matter what you do to the car, it's performance is dictated by the four small contact patches between your tires and the pavement. Shocks are #2 because they keep your tires on the road, and a tire off the road has no contact patch at all. Do NOT skimp on tires if you're at ALL serious about performance. This includes having the right width wheel to mount them on - a 255 mounted on the right size rim will perform signficantly better than a 315 on a wheel that's way too narrow for it. The one mod that I do suggest to every fox chassis owner is full-length weld-in subframe connectors. No matter what you're doing, they will help your car do it better.
