If your 17, its a pretty sweet mod. Then you can tell your friends that you have stage one weight reduction.

Its not worth it. In my 88 I had all the carpet removed from the whole car and I had an offroad x pipe with mac dumps. I had to pretty much yell at whoever was in the car with me. Never could hear my phone ring. Had to blast my stereo just to hear it. It sucked

if your looking to do some reduction, start in the bay
delete the egr, smog and a/c, etc. random things like the canister
then go to your heater box thing-a-majig under your dash

i have my car gutted, minus the dash and center console and doors
not thatttt loud imo

if you remove all of it, firewall to trunk
..maybe 20lbs? lol
if you really wanna lose some weight, invest in a tubular k-member
at least 70lbs off

I took out the insulation on all my high school rides, thought it was cool then, now not so much. Unless its a race car, keep it and look at other options.

amazing how people think so much differently I for one dont think there is enough weight for the trouble and money to be deleting things off of a street car. Thats just me and my thinking. i have full int i have a/c and ps. Heads and tube k member is where i would be spending money to be saving weight. Not to mention if you decided to for some reason sell our car. taking the a/c, p/s, and the padding and somewhere I say someone say take the blower box out that is just silly. Stop gutting street cars trying to pretend you have a race car.

If you get a tubular k-member, check with the company to make sure you can use your stock a-arms and suspension. I bought mine thinking I could get away with this and when it got here, I realized it had no spring perches and you have to go with coilovers to use it. Definitely jumped the gun w/o researching that one.

well for one, my a/c and heating didn't work
smog, don't need it and the rear seats were gross
weight reduction adds up and goes a bit of ways
