Haven't been on in a while....

Alot has happened in the past couple months. I traded in the 88 and got a used car at the dealership i work at..... you all will probably hate me now..... but i got an 08 Focus SES all options and had 42k miles on it when I bought it. My girlfriend is pregnant and is due in september so i needed to get rid of the mustang fast. It was not baby friendly and was falling apart. Had to replace 3 freeze plugs, found out the bellhousing was cracked, clutch was slipping VERY bad about to go out, had a trans leak, rear axle seal leak, and blew a headgasket. Got the AC fixed right before i traded it though haha

Anyways, I know this salesman that works at the dealer I work at. He got me 1500 for my car and i got another 1500 off for my employee discount. Payments are about 250 a month so its not that bad for a 2 year old car. I like it though. It costs $32 to fill up a full tank of gas and a tank lasts me about 400 miles, 36mpg I love it. way better than 17mpg in the 88 especially now because i moved so i have a 80 mile round trip drive everyday

Well just thought i would let you guys in on my car business. I'm still gonna be on here though even though i dont have a mustang anymore lol. I will own another 5.0 soon though for my toy

I dont think selling your car should elicit hate. You do what you have to do... even though you still ended up with a payment option :/

The 08 focus is pretty nice, and the mpg is enviable

Yeah it sucks i have a car payment now.. But with how much i was spending on gas and parts to fix the stang i will be paying less now. When i dirve this focus hard it still manages to get 32 mph haha. if i drive like a grandma i can get almost 38.

You know, i was thinking about a swap because I've seen it and it's wicked, but it would kind of defeat the purpose lol

Yeah my friend just had a kid... he's still drivin around in his 88 GT with a car seat. I would rather sacrifice for my kid than keep a toy.

Thanks guys

I had two kids and only my 91 Mustang when I was in the military. The four of us drove across the country 4 times in it with them in the back in car seats. We (or just wife and kids when i was gone) made almost monthly 11 hour trips up and down the east coast (650 miles each way) for 4 years too. Put over 100K miles in about 4 years to be exact. It is doable and we enjoyed it. Of course this was back in the early 90's and the car was new.

That being said, you gotta do what you gotta do. For the last 12 year or so, I've had some type of small econobox and some type of family hauler and the Mustangs are secondary transportation so I agree.

congrats on the kid man... take care of your family first, you'll always have time in your life later for a mustang.

Thats awesome mileage, I get about 17 in the vette... which sucks but its not a economy car...

Im betting ull find a nicer stang later anyway so you will win out good! Congrats on the baby! They are a lot of work but some joy too I guess LOL just kidding.. my bro just had a baby boy and drives around a van now but still has some toys for himself..!

And thanks man. I'm excited! OH and its a boy too
