running just open headers at track?


Hello i have a 1988 gt with a 306 etc ... Just wondering if i just run my longtubes and just unbolt my mid pipe and mufflers will it pick up any in the 1/8th mile? Or will a car will full exhaust run better?

Dont think you will notice a difference other than it will be louder and you might think you are going faster.

I was always told not to run just open headers cause there isn't enough back pressure. Not sure how accurate that is though

you will loose power with no backpressure with your engine setup....

but if you wanna look like an asshole with open headers and run slower....go for it! haha

keep the full exhaust. /end
