cooling questions


just wondering what would be the best bang for my buck on cooling parts looking to get rid of stock fan assembly, a/c, smog pump ect. on my last 5.0 i went with a new 12in electric fan and bought all my brackets to delete other stuff from summit but lookin to try to save some $$$$ so i can put it else where so curious what ppl are doin.. a little background...this will be a street/strip car so i need something that will be good for stop and go traffic car will rarely see the highway or freeway

jegs sells a ford universal aluminum 2 row radiator for 160 bucks i have it on my fox LOVE it, buy a 160 or 180 thermostat at napa, like 10 bucks, flexilite electric fan, (lil pricey) and u should be good my car runs at 196 to 204 with stock thermostat, im swappin the thermo out for a 160 and then she should run 180 all the time

what do you have to control your fan?? ive heard of ppl using t-bird electric fans or mark series car fans too???

don't forget a waterpump! you can get a highflow waterpump as well.

do water pumps make that much of a difference and if i do go aftermarket water pump should i stick with belt driven or fork out the extra $$$$ for electric???

My opinion.
Bang for the buck... Keep the stock mechanical fan, fan clutch, and rad. It is reliable and will cool a lot of HP with no problem. Find the few HP/weight reduction/traction somewhere else cheaper.
