351 heads?

Will 351 heads fit on a 302? I have been told by several people that they will but just wanted some other opinions.

Well 302 heads fit on a 351 so I would think they do..

Yes they do but you will need tappered bolts or studs or head bolt bushings. Now I have to ask, why do you want to put 351 heads on your 302? You will gain nothing, and if you have an 87-93 5 liter you will probably lose horsepower.

The E7TE heads are actually 351W truck heads that saved the Mustang power wise for 87.But anyway's the 69-74 heads and the GT40(lighting) are the only good 351W heads.

Actually E7TE's were 302 truck heads, hence the 7/16 head bolt holes.

I thought the 302 truck engines were still using left over E5 heads, and then they decided to cast the E7TE heads with 7/16 holes for use on the 5.0HO and then just drilled them out for the 351W.

I was just wondering they have been beefed up and have been polished and shaved to raise the compression. The guy only wants $100 for them.

Exactly how much horsepower did you gain from heads that are almost identical to a 302 head?

I gained about 65 HP from the heads I had 3 to 5 angle valve, ported polished and bigger intake and exhaust valves installed on them as well as heavy duty springs.

Just out of curiousity what is the casting numbers on these heads? If you gained 65 horsepower from a set of ported stock heads, you know a secret that alot of engine builders would kill for. There are people that don't gain that with aftermarket heads......
