SUSPENSION

I am building a mustang and am upgrading he suspension and brakes, I have pretty good power but i want to be able to get it to the ground, an i want it to hang good. I have the grannetelli upper an lower control arms, I was thinking of springs, but should i get other things before the springs. And with long tubes will the headers drag with lowering?

first it's "Hook" not hang good LOL it's ok though. second, I don't know how much "power" your stang has but me, the springs you have are just fine until you start getting more torque. when you lower your car, you will not drag unless you rice lower it so remember you have a stang which will soon drop the back end like a black woman dancing to lil jon. so try to lower it at least 1 /1/2 - 2 1/2.

Your headers will not drag as well. My opinion worry about making power before making looks, you will feel better in the long run.

You can put all of your sentences in one post my friend LOL.

No honestly I would say TF heads, Stage II cam, 3.73 gears, dumps, 74mm TB, EFM tune, ECU Re-flashing, shift range adjustment, 5.0 Shifter, new driveshaft.

The reason I named those off is because thanks to darrell and several other people, I am getting a 351w and for my sake, I am doing that as mods minus the throttle body and electronics since I have a carb setup on the way. I'm not much a mass air emissions guy but I would say those those are some good choices.

Great to hear about someone else who wants to be able to handle turns. What year is your mustang?

If I had the money to do the suspension right to handle curves I would start off with a full polyurethane front end rebuild kit. Also a strut tower brace that connects to the firewall as well. When you have the front end apart do some nice handling springs (progressive rate) and new struts/shocks that are a little more stiff for handling. My buddy who was into taking curves had Koni's and he swore by them. Maybe an aftermarket front sway bar too like the one steeda offers while you got it all apart.

Next I would add some full length subframe connectors and have them welded in.

From there you would have a serious foundation for better handling. Further improvements would be to step up to lighter stiffer rims with a wider road contact patch and some 'z' rated (or better) tires .

Struts and shocks full adjustable koni, full length sub frames, pan hard bar and lowering springs from eibach. That should get u started. Then full kmember set up ect. Look at maximum motorsports.

I'm all about handling the curves! And actualy I wouldn't reccomend an aftermarket front sway as the stock front is plenty with some Urethane bushings and aftermarket endlinks, I do reccomend about a 15/16 or 1" rear sway bar though, as the stock rear is somewhat pathetic IMO. I run UPR camber/castor plates with MAC progressive rate springs and KYB GR-2's with an ST suspension rear sway bar. But I do have some adjustable KONI's from a SVO mustang if anybody is interested, only problem is one of the struts needs a recharge. I found a wrecked '84 SVO and based alot of my suspension on that car it was the best handling fox ever put in production IMO.

I beleive that ECU has nothing to do with suspension.. read the sentence over again. Never mentioned that reffering to suspension
