GT40 INTAKE
I have a gt40 intake , my question is that i was told that the intake is no good for what I'm building I in the middle of building a 347 all forged parts, flat top pistons with valve reliefs 10.1 ,185 afr heads, shorty headers .I was told to get the holleysystemax intake or the TFR ? I thought the gt40 was one of the best that you can get ?

the gt40 intake is great for a budget build ,but for a 347 with afr heads
i'd go with either the trickflow or holley intake.. |

trickflow and the systemax intake a definitly better that a stock GT40. but you could port the lower intake and get one of the many sheet metal bread box upper intakes for it.

Gt40 is better than stock...But if you are going to be building a car of that caliper, why not sell that intake for a couple hundred, and spend a couple hundred more for the TF or Holley intake.

Re: GT40 INTAKE
The GT-40 is no where near the best you can get.. Besides what was suggested by others check out the Spyder intake from Coast High Performance.. Flows awesome and there is no upper intake to take off whenever you work on a Mustang.. I hate that...

I have never seen actual numbers in comparison but it is the best intake for turbo supercharger and wet nitrous applications. It lacks a bit in the low end but if you are making good power that is not such a bad thing in a Mustang. Hard enough as it is to get traction. Its worth its weight in gold for the ease of not having to remove the upper intake to do any work on the car.. I love it and would not trade it for anything... My suggestion though if you go with that intake it works best with the Anderson Power Pipe... Also it comes with billit fuel rails so the stock fittings will not work. CHP sells a kit to hook up the fuel.. Its gonna cost ya for the whole deal.. Quite a bit more than your average Mustang intake but it leaves you damn near unlimited room to grow...
