wont stay running??

hey im new to mm and glad to be

so anyway my real ? is i have a 93gt 306 and i know it takes 3 things to make a motor run .... well i know i have plenty of air , and i know i have plenty of fuel ,but not sure about the firing part ,its fires right up everytime u hit it and will run for about 7 to 10 secs and shut of and ill fire it up again and it does the same thing .and if i give it gas it goes dead immediatly ,i checked all conections and all wires.this happened after the car started running bad so i pulled over and seen the wire melted into arching off the header.so i came home and put new plug wires on( in the right order cuz i did it one at a time) and ran or half ass runs since .any advise ohh wise ones

have you checked your vacuum? perhaps a leak.

well there is this one line that come out of the intake and i dont know where it goes but i think its allways been like that ,accually there r 2 but onley one is unhooked and its a small plasic line?

and a small vacum leak would make that big of a dif??
