Well, their both petroleum based... there would be no way to get fuel into your crankcase in a fuel injected car unless you've got a leaky injector. If in doubt, change the oil.

I had a similar problem with an old s-10

I was somehow getting oil in the gas, so bad that when I was pulling a camper, it would jump/almost not run, I changed the oil, and problem went away, then I sold the truck. I am sure it was some kind of sensor or something that was causing th issue, but no one could identify the problem.

A bad piston ring would have worse issues than a little bit of gas in the oil.

well i havent really drove it in a while but i lose most of the oil cause of the bad oil pan gasket and bad rear main seal. when i do drive it it drives pretty good. IDK. i wish i had a place to work on it tho.

the burning of oil on startup could be bad valve guides/seals?

so it would be a good idea to get the motor rebuilt or get a new long or short block.
