Hello every one, I have been on the search for a foxbody mustang 1989-1993, But any ways I have seen some mustangs With the back seat taken out, Now does that reduce the wate of the car by Much? And if so is it worth it and how much would a kit cost to do so... well thanks very much

I took mine out a few weeks ago. it didnt feel as heavy as i thought it would be. Maybe 50 pounds, but i doubt it...

As far as buying a kit, dont do that...If you have any skills with a saw, you can make your own...Just buy some thin plywood or particle board, and buy some carpet and it saves you alot of money.

Unless you only have one friend or family member, or your car is an all out race car I'd leave them in. Taking out 50lbs. of seat, then putting 50lbs. of plywood and carpet dosen't save weight.

The back seat weighs about 20 pounds at the very most. I'd leave it in unless you have a roll cage that requires the seat to be removed. Otherwise the interior looks like ass.

I plan on buying a rear seat delete kit just cause i hate hauling people around. Plus i think it will reduce some weight even tho some people don't think it will.

If you hate hauling people around, tell them "hell no I won't give you a ride" next time. That's how you take care of that. You mind as well empty your gas tank because you get tired of going to the beer store for your friends too.

Well i don't drink, and so i don't buy for minors. I think rear seat delete kits give the hatch area a very clean look, as well as reduces alittle weight.

I guess I should add to this.......

I was referring to a notchback. I believe a hatch back rear seat weighs quite a bit more.

My seats didnt weigh as much as i thought rear seats would, but i guess every little bit helps.

And +1 on the interior looking like ass without the seats! I just laid my seats back in but didnt bolt them up. When i go to the track i will just pull them out.
