Fuel Pump Problems

So i have put 5 new fuel pumps in the car in the last 2 months. I put 3 new factory pumps then i sprung for 2 walbro pumps. Why would my car keep killing the pumps. Is it nesessary to rewire the pump? My car is down at the moment and i want to figure the problem out before i spend another hundred dollars on a pump. Thanks

Have you replaced your fuel filter at all? I dont see any reason why you would burn through that many pumps unless it was being over worked ie.. clogged filter. Any problems with the way its running? any codes?
Maybe check the voltage to the pump for chits and giggles and see what you got. Seems like a very odd problem.

I pulled the plug off the fuel pump and checked the voltage. When the key was on (not running) the red wire was receiving 6 volts, the yellow was about the same. When i check the red going into the fuel pump housing when the car is running it is showing 12v. This has got me baffled.

i would go ahead and check your grounds also trow a new relay at it just to eliminate that they are cheap, then go from there. +1 on the fuel filter i have seen a clogged filter destroy a new pump in like one tank of gas.
