Power Steering pressure hose leak
Im leaking fluid from where the high pressure hose meets the power steering pump, idk why, can anyone tell me how many o rings are suppose to go on there and what size they are? im thinking i left one of when i changed out the pump. Im pretty sure they hose itself is still good. Is there a place online that will tell me how many are required om that end, im using about a bottle of power steering fluid every week and i need to get this fixed...i will take some pics of what o rings i have on there now

Im going thru same thing. There should be 2 seals. 1 white plastic one that you have to soak in hot water to stretch over it and then a lil black rubber one to put on tip. I got to replace my hose. g/l

oh ok, great, i dont think you should have to replace the whole hose, i dont think they go bad, just buy the seals individually, unless you have a rip in it somewhere

Replaced seals still leaking. I have to put fluid in everyday. Think the tip where it swivels got bent in the rebuild

yes its possible, well i took mine off and i'll be there was no rubber o ring on the tip, so i went out in my garage and looked in my tool drawer and there it sits from when i bought the new pump and threw it in there...so im gonna go on ahead and put it on and see what happens...

ok i have one more questions is there suppose to be an o ring on the rack side of the pressure line, the directions i got when i bought the new rack said it didnt need one, i just put a teflon seal on that side, but i know now that the pump side of the pressure line needs an o ring just want to make sure im not missing anything on the rack side
thanks |
